National Sabbatical Scheme

Why?

To increase the number of bilingual teachers, lecturers and work-based learning training providers in Wales. Watch an advert for the national sabbatical scheme here.

Who?

The scheme is available to primary and secondary teachers (including supply staff); further education lecturers; work- based learning training providers; higher education lecturers (distance learning only) and fluentWelsh speakers (first and second language).

Where?

The courses are available at two centres, one at University of Wales, Bangor and the other at Cardiff University.

When?

How?

The scheme runs over a period of three months as a block course (attending every day) or as a distance learning course. For more information please see the National Sabbatical Scheme website.

How much?

The scheme is funded by the Welsh Government.
