Head of Sgiliaith currently Director for Bilingualism and Equality, Grŵp Llandrillo Menai

Angharad Mai Lloyd-Williams is Head of Sgiliaith. Her responsibilities include to:

  • Undertake the day-to-day running of Canolfan Sgiliaith
  • Contribute to practitioner training and the provision of resources (e.g. Bilingual Teaching Methodology MA Module, revision courses, National Sabbatical Scheme, individual college PGCE courses, etc)
  • Take responsibility for negotiating and providing tailored assistance to a number of further education colleges/local partnerships(the number to be agreed, although the intention is to share this work with the Head of Sgiliaith)
  • Work with Bilingualism Champions and other key individuals in further education colleges
  • Work with other partners and networks, such as CYDAG, Welsh-medium Education Forums, and Coleg Cenedlaethol Cymru, to promote an increase in provision and learner numbers, and to share good practice
  • Lead on aspects of new business
  • Monitor financial administration

She has worked previously as a peripetetic and video-conferencing A level tutor within schools across Wales and beyond. Angharad has worked with Sgiliaith since May 2011 with the aim of helping the Welsh Government drive forward the Welsh language agenda, specifically the Welsh Medium Education Strategy and CollegesWales’ Bilingualism Strategy in FE. She is also a member of the National Digital Learning Council for The Welsh Government and is a Beacon Award Assessor for the Association of Colleges.
